Book Donations

What can I do with my old books & magazines?

Just a reminder that the Friends of the Library can use many of your gently used books for our monthly book sales.

Recent fiction and non-fiction books fly-off our cart in the Library foyer and are coveted at the book sales.

Books which your children have outgrown are in high demand and collectables like old children's primers are sought by collectors. If you should want a letter verifying your donation for tax purposes, ask at the desk. Please count your paperback and hard back books separately so a dollar value can be placed on them.

Remember, old text books, earlier than 1996, incomplete sets or very old sets of encyclopedias, law books and anything musty, dirty or damaged should be recycled. Those books not suitable for a book sale should be taken to the SOCRRA site at 995 Coolidge, M-F, 8-4 and Sat. 8-12 where they can be dropped off, without an appointment, for recycling.

The Library prefers not to take most magazines for our book sales unless they are very special. Check with the Library before dropping off magazines. Magazines which you and we don't want can now be recycled curbside.
