History of the Library

The Huntington Woods Public Library was originally housed in the basement of Burton Elementary School. The current building was opened in 1960 as a Library and Cultural Center. In 1998, a major expansion and renovation was completed and the Gardner Learning Center, Men's Club Reading Room, Friend's Room, and the Storytime Room were dedicated.

The Library is a member of The Library Network, a consortium of more than 60 libraries in the Metropolitan Detroit area.
